An Energy Cost Comparison - Vacuum & Gravity Sewer Systems
Thursday, May 30th, 2013, 2 PM ET / 1 PM CT / 11 AM PT
This webcast presents an energy cost comparison of vacuum and gravity sewer
collection systems that are typically used in the wastewater utility industry. This study
reviews the methodology used for evaluating and comparing power usage at conventional
wastewater lift stations with a vacuum sewer collection system (and central pumping
station) for a similar-sized neighborhood in the Florida Keys. Power cost comparisons
are presented for both sewer types over a three-year period of record. The engineering
principles used with both vacuum and gravity sewers are also presented and
discussed, including a review of the major components included in each system.

Building Consensus with Clients & Stakeholders for Roundabouts
Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013, 2 PM ET / 1 PM CT / 11 AM PT

Let’s face it: Roundabouts have poor public perception in the United States, even though a properly designed modern roundabout may be the perfect solution to a new or redesigned intersection.  This webinar will highlight an efficacious project in Johnston, Iowa, that successfully introduced four modern roundabouts into a single corridor despite initial denial or reluctance from the owner and key stakeholders.  Using Bentley software such as MicroStation, GEOPAK, and LEAP, Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC used innovative techniques to inform and educate the public and key stakeholders of the benefits and the logistics of how roundabouts would prevail as the preferred solution for the NW 62nd Avenue Improvements project.

Esri’s Roads and Highways: A Data Integration Solution
Wednesday, December 5th, 2012, 2 PM ET/1 PM CT/11 AM PT

This webinar focuses on key reasons Departments of Transportation (DOTs) are adopting Esri Roads and Highways, a new solution designed to help DOTs and Highway Management agencies seamlessly integrate roadway data and information from multiple sources across the organization. The solution gives a comprehensive view of roadway networks to provide better decision support for planning, operational management and maintenance. Recognizing that many agencies struggle with data integration issues because of the use of different linear measurement systems, this geographic information system (GIS) based solution is designed to help agencies more effectively integrate information from separate business areas into a common information framework.
